Death Warmed Over
That's how I've felt and how I've looked the last 2 1/2 days. I don't know exactly what I have, but it is not pretty. I have spent most of the last 2 days in bed, and that hasn't happened in so long, I can't even recall, but I'm guessing way before I had kids. I have a head cold and a chest cold and I am just hoping that it doesn't end up as a sinus infection. My throat hurts so bad from coughing that I can barely swallow! And, to top it all off, yesterday we were all ready to go to church and Lily was sitting in my lap, when all of a sudden, whamo! A volcano of milk vomit all over me! It was super! I can't even explain it to you, but it was nasty and needless to say, we did not go to church. It was going to be tough on me anyway, since I was already sick, but with a vomiting kid, it just wasn't going to work out. She threw up all the rest of the morning, but made it into a bowl each time, thankfully. We are on the mend now. I had to put off some things that I really wanted to do today and some things that I really needed to do today, but oh well, when you are sick, you are sick. I am hoping after a nice sleep tonight I will be at least at 75% tomorrow, which is good, because I have a lot of things to do tomorrow, that cannot be put off! I just hope Chuck and Skyler do not fall prey to this; you know how those two are, once they're sick, they will be sick for the next six months! Anyway, sorry I haven't been updating my blog very well. I have been really busy and it doesn't look like it is going to slow down anytime soon, it actually looks like it is going to get worse, before it get better. So I will try to do better!

Smooth Jazz
Chuck and I love ourselves some smooth jazz. We fell in love with it when we lived in Salt Lake City. They had the greatest Smooth Jazz radio station of all time. We used to listen to it online, but they quit offering it. I recently found a way for us to get our smooth jazz fix and the kids love it just as much as we do. I am not sure where these dancing techniques were learned, but I am sure you will laugh at least once!

Svajgl Family Picnic
Sunday was the annual Svajgl Family picnic. It was such fun to get together with everyone. We usually see everyone at various times of the year, but mostly when it is cold outside. It was such a joy to see all of the kiddos out there playing on the playground equipment, running around, and feeding the ducks!
Paint it red baby!

Becoming a 5 Star General
Skyler's teacher sent a note home about a book they had read at school, Five Star General. The note said that they wanted everyone to have a chance to become a 'Five Star General' at school. They listed five tasks that each student needs to complete to become a general. The list was simple, all except one thing. They had to count to 20, know their birthday, know their shapes, know their colors, and tie their shoes. All of those things are so easy for Skyler, he's known them for years; except tieing the shoes. I stopped buying tie shoes for Skyler a long time ago. He did find an old pair in his shoe bin, and somehow put got them on. He was bound and determined to learn how to tie his shoes yesterday. I spent some time with him in the morning and he was doing pretty well, but he still didn't have it. I told him if he really wanted to learn how to tie his shoes, we would have to buy him a pair a shoes that actually fit. We went to Kohl's and he picked some out and when we got home he kept trying and trying. I was a little frustrated with the fact that he just wouldn't take a break from it! And then, as we were watching a movie, he came over to me and showed me that he had finally done it, all by himself! He had, he had tied his own shoe! He was so proud of himself and we were so proud of him; buying new shoes was a great reward for him too, he loves them!
