Fontenelle Forest Friday

Skyer had the day off from school on Friday so we decided to go on a field trip to Fontenelle Forest. We had so much fun! They have a display called Ecohuts, which are different structures made out of recyclable materials or energy efficient buildings. They were all very interesting and the kids had a ball playing in them. We went on the Riverview board walk and played with acorns and walnuts and watched the birds and the squirrels. The view of the river was awesome and we plan to go back soon to see all the trees changing into their fall color.

Nature Walks With Lily

Everyday after lunch, Lily and I go on a walk to look for frogs. We have a great trail right by our house that is next to a stream and we stop often and look for frogs. We see them ever ytime and sometimes even get them to jump into the water. She loves it. She says, "mom, I love ribbits, can I hug them? I love them so much!" We see all sorts of other things, like squirrels, dogs and she has so much fun. It brings such joy to my heart.

Shower Invites

Even though they are hard to see, these are the baby shower invitations for my sister's shower. I think they are pretty cute. We made them, so I am partial to them.

Really?

So, my biggest fear is coming to light, another bad fall/winter season battling illness. Guess what I found out I have tonight. Go ahead, guess. Yep, strep! Isn't it wonderful. I was just starting to feel better and then whamo, back to being completely worthless and not feeling right. Went to the doctor for a sinus headache. I was pretty convinced I had a sinus infection because that's what we do around here, get a cold and it turns into a sinus infection. But no, I have something that is way worse than that. Why? Because it is contagious!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not happy about this!

Death Warmed Over

That's how I've felt and how I've looked the last 2 1/2 days. I don't know exactly what I have, but it is not pretty. I have spent most of the last 2 days in bed, and that hasn't happened in so long, I can't even recall, but I'm guessing way before I had kids. I have a head cold and a chest cold and I am just hoping that it doesn't end up as a sinus infection. My throat hurts so bad from coughing that I can barely swallow! And, to top it all off, yesterday we were all ready to go to church and Lily was sitting in my lap, when all of a sudden, whamo! A volcano of milk vomit all over me! It was super! I can't even explain it to you, but it was nasty and needless to say, we did not go to church. It was going to be tough on me anyway, since I was already sick, but with a vomiting kid, it just wasn't going to work out. She threw up all the rest of the morning, but made it into a bowl each time, thankfully. We are on the mend now. I had to put off some things that I really wanted to do today and some things that I really needed to do today, but oh well, when you are sick, you are sick. I am hoping after a nice sleep tonight I will be at least at 75% tomorrow, which is good, because I have a lot of things to do tomorrow, that cannot be put off! I just hope Chuck and Skyler do not fall prey to this; you know how those two are, once they're sick, they will be sick for the next six months! Anyway, sorry I haven't been updating my blog very well. I have been really busy and it doesn't look like it is going to slow down anytime soon, it actually looks like it is going to get worse, before it get better. So I will try to do better!

One Year Ago

A year ago we were out having an adventure in Montana. Chuck and I had a blast, we went white water rafting, did a lot of hiking, sight seeing and dreaming. We relaxed and just took in the nature and the beauty of the place. Here are some pictures to help us remember the fun times we had.
