Becoming a 5 Star General

Skyler's teacher sent a note home about a book they had read at school, Five Star General. The note said that they wanted everyone to have a chance to become a 'Five Star General' at school. They listed five tasks that each student needs to complete to become a general. The list was simple, all except one thing. They had to count to 20, know their birthday, know their shapes, know their colors, and tie their shoes. All of those things are so easy for Skyler, he's known them for years; except tieing the shoes. I stopped buying tie shoes for Skyler a long time ago. He did find an old pair in his shoe bin, and somehow put got them on. He was bound and determined to learn how to tie his shoes yesterday. I spent some time with him in the morning and he was doing pretty well, but he still didn't have it. I told him if he really wanted to learn how to tie his shoes, we would have to buy him a pair a shoes that actually fit. We went to Kohl's and he picked some out and when we got home he kept trying and trying. I was a little frustrated with the fact that he just wouldn't take a break from it! And then, as we were watching a movie, he came over to me and showed me that he had finally done it, all by himself! He had, he had tied his own shoe! He was so proud of himself and we were so proud of him; buying new shoes was a great reward for him too, he loves them!

So was that his OCD coming out? Jonathan was so excited that he could be a FIVE STAR GENERAL, the only thing he had to work on was the shoe thing too! He is still trying but he wants to try over and over again! Did you get the homework calendar too? He is so excited that he gets to do homework!
